So I went to have my daily CTG on 7th November 2020 which was meant to take me up to Tuesday 10th, till i would’ve seen my consultant. After being on the machine the midwife spoke to one of the doctors and it was decided that i was to be induced ASAP, because of frequent reduced fetal movements.
It feels weird if i’m honest being here by myself (something which is normal at the moment, due to COVID). Giving birth alone after having luke with me for previous births is something i never thought would happen. I’m so excited and very nervous to do birth as when you’ve had children before you know how bad the pain can be.
While i was in early labour i cried many times as i was alone, in a room by myself. Scared, nervous, emotional. It was easier the more pain i was in as i didn’t have anything else to think about. Either way we had no childcare for the other kids so always knew this was going to happen.
I feel extremely lucky that the midwives through my labour were lovely and super supportive, helped to dress him and helped carry my bags when i went home.
At the end of it all, i’ve given birth to a healthy baby boy. For that i am grateful for 2020.
